Bringing design to the warehouses and industrial heartland of Dubai’s Ras Al Khour, DRAK – Design Ras Al Khor is a grassroots initiative founded by four UAE-based designers with the aim to draw attention to the potential of the area – one of the oldest industrial outposts in the city- as further creative community for Dubai.
DRAK is an annual collective design initiative, which will also encourage design research, innovation and material exploration. In 2015, and under the topic of Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary, DRAK will present five design projects for its inaugural exhibition during Dubai Design Week spanning product design (Khalid Shafar), fashion (Khulood Thani), jewellery (Nadine Kanso), architecture (Tarik Al Zaharna) and food design (David O’Brien).
Hosted at Khalid Shafar’s showroom, KASA in No. 7, Street 22a, Community 612, Ras Al Khor Industrial 1 in Dubai, DRAK’s inaugural edition opens during Dubai Design Week 26 – 31 Oct, everyday 10:00am – 4:00pm except Friday 12:00 – 5:00pm.
